Threshold
November 30, 2009
Every time you think you’ve reached it, you’re proven wrong. The threshold of pain, of pleasure, of sadness, of just about any feeling out there. It’s probably, to a degree, the same feeling, exaggerated sometimes true, but most of the time, it’s the same feeling for a longer or shorter period of time. It’s time that traps us. It’s our feeling that this everlasting emotion will never leave us that either drives us towards maintaining it if it is pleasurable or trashing it if it’s harmful to us.
If we can conquer our minds and truly deep inside believe that whatever feeling we have is temporary, we can truly overcome so many distractions in life. We can master our emotions; break free from them. Emotions are fuels of our hearts pushing us upwards to mountain tops of success or dropping us down wells of despair and depression.
Nothing is everlasting in this life except for Allah azza wa jal. Whatever you’re going through, there’s an end to it. And it’s sooner than you think.
Asalamu alaikum ukhtee, this is a great reminder, very nicely written too, jazakillah khairan
